HEALTH TRENDS

You and your partner will pick 3 playing cards.
The cards will show you which 3 health trends to research.

Card Values

  • Ace = 1
  • Number cards = their value (2–10)
  • Jack = 11
  • Queen = 12
  • King = 13

How to Find Your 3 Health Trends

Card 1 = Trend A
The number = your first health trend.

Card 1 + Card 2 = Trend B
Add the first and second card. The total = your second health trend.

Card 1 + Card 2 + Card 3 = Trend C
Add all three cards. The total = your third health trend.

⚠️ If the number is more than 21, draw again.

Example

Cards: Ace (1), 3, 9

Trend A = 1 → Thermal Spa Resorts

Trend B = 1 + 3 = 4 → Electroencephalography

Trend C = 1 + 3 + 9 = 13 → Aerobics & Jazzercise

Your Task

For each of your 3 health trends:

What was it? (Explain in simple words)

When was it popular?

Why did people believe in it?

What do people think today?

Your opinion: “I think this trend was … because …”

Reflection After you finish all 3:

  • What do your three trends have in common?
  • What do they say about how people thought about health?
  • Do you think people today are smarter about health, or do we still believe in strange things?
  • Write a short combined opinion with your partner (3–5 sentences).
